gnome-shell-mailnag software package provides mail notification extension for GNOME Shell, you can install in your Ubuntu 17.04 (Zesty Zapus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gnome-shell-mailnag
gnome-shell-mailnag is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gnome-shell-mailnag package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gnome-shell-mailnag *
You will get with gnome-shell-mailnag package name, version, architecture and description in a table
